About the event
We travel to the attractive town of Romsey, described as the 'jewel in the crown of Hampshire'. There will be time to explore the town, perhaps visiting the Abbey, where Lord Louis Mountbatten is buried or King John's House, home to Romsey Museum. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs in which to find lunch. In the afternoon we make the short journey to the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, established in 1953 and home to a remarkable collection of trees, shrubs and plants. The iconic centenary Border is the longest double herbacious border in the UK and is a kaleidoscope of colour stunning from May to October. Also enjoy the tranquility of the pond, banked by lush foilage and giant Gunners. Price includes entrance with cream tea.
